Conspiracy on the Moon - Karen Y
I found this research easier than the rest since you could just pick a side and then find all the information you needed. This time there were only two sides to pick from, so it wasn't as complicated. I found the fact that many people thought the footprints were just wet sand very interesting because it shows that not many people are willing to do their research.

I thought that this was a more difficult topic to research since we don't know for sure a lot of information about black holes. Once I decided that I wanted to narrow in on the singularites, it was easier to find information. I thought the most interesting fact was that there may be naked singularities out in the universe somewhere.

Black Holes -- Ryan Franda
Black holes are possibly one of the most confusing astronomical occurrences that I’ve heard of. I’m going to try to explain what they are, what goes on inside them, what we don’t know and what we theorize to be true.
A star is constantly in balance between atomic explosions pushing outward and gravity pushing inward. This makes the sun a large ball of fire, but it still keeps it from exploding or imploding. Black holes are formed after a star’s atomic power runs out. In other words, it runs out of gas. This disrupts the balance, and in a regular-sized star the gravity just makes the star compact, and turn into a white dwarf, and eventually, a black dwarf. In a star of unusual size, however, the gravity is suddenly released with nothing to fight against it. This causes it resort to a complete spasm – a supernova. This is a huge explosion that resounds through space, leaving in its path, a black hole.
Black holes have incredible gravity. They are not, however, like a vacuum cleaner. They act like any other body – a star of planet – of great gravity. However, when they are close to something, they pull it towards it and suck it into its center, because they have such large gravity. Why do they have so much gravity? As you near a black hole, and start to get pulled in, you become more and more at the mercy of the black hole. When you travel past a certain point, called the event horizen, you would have to travel past the speed of light to escape. Eventually you get pulled right into the center of the black hole. This is only a small point, with mass getting compressed to an extremely tight and hot ball, called the point of singularity. The matter here is so tight tight, some even say it is infinitly dense.
Actually, nobody knows what goes on at the center. It is true that some theorists suggest infinite density, but for that to happen, there would need to be a volume of zero and infinite gravity, and for a lot of people that is hard to comprehend. It is possible that there is simply extremely high gravity and density in the center. I think this is more likely, because with infinite density and gravity the gravitational pull would be so great that it would take in everything near it, and thus provide more fuel until it eats the universe itself. It is hard to find out exactly what is at the center, because they suck in light, but with special cameras that track different rays than light rays, we can learn more about what is there.

Allie H.--Dark Energy and Dark Matter
A piece of information that I found interesting was 99.9% of matter in the universe is dark matter, therefore 99.9% of all matter in the universe is partially a mystery. Most of this research was easy, but the only thing I couldn't find anything on was some implications on whether or not we could store dark matter or energy.

Finding information on dark matter and energy was harder than the research I've done so far, because there weren't many good websites or explanations on what both are. Something I found interesting in my research was that the expansion of the universe has been accelerating rather than slowing, like most people believed.

Tanner S. Alternate Theories of the universe.
The words in the picture are hard to read so here they are again.
Around 13.7 Billion years ago there was not a cosmic explosion, the universe just began to expand. The universe started to “inflate”, it began to expand and cool. The universe is believed to have began as an infinitely small, and infinitely, and infinitely dense. It was a singularity. A singularity is thought to be at the core of a black hole. Where did it come from? We don’t know. Why did it appear? We don’t know. The universe to this day is still expanding. It is still constantly cooling and growing.
Scientists think of matter as being made of tiny particles that they are unobservable. Mathematical formulas say that particles are point-like and therefore have no shape. The general idea of the string theory is that this is wrong, and that these particles are instead shaped like tiny loops of string. String theory suggests that when these tiny loops move in different ways, they actually are a different type of matter. In other words, if the string theory loop moves in one direction it will act differently than if it moves in another direction.
The creation theory is a belief that the universe was created from a God that created all life and everything from a complete nothingness. Another version of this is theistic evolution and this is a belief that God placed creatures on this earth that he created and created evolution to evolve these creature into humans and other animals of today.

Black Holes ~ Amanda D.
Black holes I found to be very confusing. After awhile though all of the research started to click, and I began to understand it. They were very cool to learn about and how many people over exaggerate what they really are. A concept that I began to understand is the point of singularity, this point continues to expand because matter can never be destroyed, so when the matter is sucked in it isn't gone but, rather it is added to the point of singularity, and that point grows, as well as the gravitional pull of that area. A white hole is the exact opposite of a black hole. In fact scientist oare not sure that they even exist. If they did however, it is said that these are the oppopsite of black holes and instead of sucking in they push out, and that would mean that matter looks as if it is spewing out of the hole.

UFO Essay ~ Amanda D.
The research really wasn't that hard. You just had to find different sightings and research them. Most of it was very easy to understand. The only hard part was trying to decide whether or not I think UFO's really do exist. I think I am going to have to go on the side that UFO's do exist. I believe that God made the universe and that he could of created more people just than us in the owrld. So I think that UFO's really do exist, granted some of the sitings I think were probably fake, but who is to say that they weren't. With the government trying to hide so much I definelty feel that there is something out there.
